CAT 2016 Cut off Percentile for IIMs

Aspirants can check the percentile cut off for admission for IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow , IIM KozhiKode, IIM Rohtak and other IIMs. CAT 2016 was conducted on December 4, 2016.

CAT 2016 Cutoff: The cut off of CAT 2016 will be announced in the second week of January, 2017 by the top B-schools in India. CAT cut off 2016 refers to the minimum percentile a test taker must obtain in order to get shortlisted by the participating institutes. CAT 2016 cut off is announced either prior to the result or after it is declared. The IIMs have already started announcing their cutoff percentile along with the admission criteria which you can refer.

CAT is scheduled to be held on December 4, 2016. The CAT 2016 application process had started from August 8 and ended on September 27 with 2,32,434 applications, a 7 year high number. For the CAT Exam, each IIM declares a separate cut off list to shortlist candidates for GD/PI rounds and for admission to various management courses. IIMs have been known to have set an extremely high bar for the CAT Cutoff, falling in the bracket of 95-99.98 percentile. Apart from the overall cut off, each institute also declares a sectional cut off.

CAT 2016 Percentile cut off for admission in IIMs

For the CAT cut off for IIM Ahmedabad aspirants can go through these details. For VRC, the cut off for General will be 75, NC-OBC will be 50, SC -65, ST-60 and DA-60. For DI and LR the cut off is 70 for general, for NC-OBC is 50, SC is 65, ST is 40, DA is 60. For QA, the general cut off is 70, for NC-OBC the cut off will be 50. For SC it is 65, ST is 60 and for DA it is 60. The overall percentile for the General category is 80, NC-OBC is 60. for SC the cut off is 75. for ST and DA the cut off is 70.

Aspirants can go through CAT cut off 2016 for IIM Bangalore for the various categories section wise is as follows. For VRC the cut off is 85, for NC-OBC the cut off is 75, for SC the cut off was 70, for ST the cut off is 60 and DA is 60. For DI and LR the general cut off is 80, NC-OBC is 70, for SC the cut off is 65, for ST the cut off is 60 and for DA the cut off 60. For QA the general category is 80, for NC-OBC is 70, SC is 65, ST is 60 and for DA is 60. The overall percentile for the General category is 90, for NC-OBC is 80, for SC, ST and DA is 75.

According to the official data of IIM Lucknow the overall percentile required for the admissions for General Category is 90, for NC-OBC the percentile was 82, for SC it was 70, for ST is 65 and DA is 70. For IIM Kozhikode, the overall percentile required for the admissions for General Category is 90, for NC-OBC is 80, the percentile was for SC it was 65 , for ST is and DA is 55.

On the other hand, CAT cutoff 2016 for the tier 2 and tier 3 B-schools range from 70-80 and around 50-60 percentile respectively. The sectional cut-off is the cut off for each section of the CAT Exam Pattern that the candidate needs to qualify along with the overall cut off. The top B-schools’ cutoff exceeds the 90 percentile mark as they look for candidates with higher competency as their prospective students.

CAT 2016 Expected Cutoff Marks

Candidates have their fingers crossed about the scores this year and they will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in CAT, and later have to appear in the selection process of PI-WAT/GD rounds of IIMs and other B-schools.
