CAT Cut off 2017 is the minimum percentile score for admission to MBA/PGDM programs in Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and other B-schools in India. Every CAT College releases its separate category-wise cutoff. It is important to clear CAT Sectional & Overall Cutoff to participate in WAT-GD/PI rounds.
CAT was successfully conducted on Nov 26. The cutoff for CAT 2017 is expected to release in January 2018.
- Total Marks for CAT 2017 is 300 (100 questions each of 1 mark)
- All the IIMs will announce their separate cut-offs.
- Apart from IIMs, other participating B-Schools will also release their own CAT cut offs.
- Cat Cut off percentile for IIM Ahmedabad last year was 99.6 percentile.
- The scores are announced category and sectional wise. Candidates must clear the sectional as well as overall cut off in order to get shortlisted for GD and PI rounds.
- For shortlisting candidates for GD/PI round, along with CAT Score candidate’s academic work and relevant work experience will be also taken into account.
IIM CAT Selection Procedure
IIM Selection Procedure is announced individually announced by all institutes. The process involves shortlisting of candidates and then appearing for Group Discussion/Written Ability Test and Personal Interview.
The cut off for 2-years PGDM program at IIM Bangalore had been around 90 percentile in the last few years. IIM Bangalore will award 60% weight to other parameters and 40% weight to CAT 2017 scores in the first stage shortlisting process for final admission round to PGP 2017-19 batch. CAT 2017 cut off is announced by the respective IIMs after the declaration of result. Other top business schools also release their cut offs after CAT Result is announced. Mainly the old IIMs and top notch b-schools such as MDI Gurgaon, XLRI Jamshedpur etc have a high cut off.
