Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Jr. Fellowship & Eligibility for Lectureship 2018
CSIR NET June 2018 Application: CSIR UGC NET 2018 held in 17th June 2018. The exam is conducted to offer Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship to the qualified candidates in major universities of India. List of candidates registered for this test will be made available in the website tentatively on 18 May 2018. e-Admit Cards can be downloaded from www.csirhrdg.res.in in the first week of June, 2018.
A candidate may apply either for ‘JRF’ OR for ‘Lectureship (LS) only’ He/she may indicate his/her preference in the Online Application, as the case may be. CSIR may consider candidates for ‘JRF’, or ‘Lectureship only” depending on number of fellowships available & performance in the test, subject to the condition that they fulfill the laid down eligibility criterion
If a candidate is found to be over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will automatically be considered for Lectureship (NET) only. Candidates with M.Sc. qualification OR under M.Sc. Result Awaited (RA) category shall be eligible for LS subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria as laid down by the UGC
Two separate merit lists, one comprising the candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF-NET) and the second, of those candidates qualifying the Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET), will be made on the basis of their performance in the above Test. Candidates qualifying for JRF (NET), will also be eligible for Lectureship (NET) subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.
Candidates qualifying for Lectureship will be eligible for recruitment as Lecturers as well as for JRF-ship in a Scheme/Project, if otherwise suitable. However, they will not be eligible for Regular JRF-NET Fellowship. Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF (NET) will receive fellowship either from CSIR or UGC as per their assignment or from the Schemes with which they may find association.

The single paper MCQ based test will be held tentatively on June 2018. The examination will be held in two sessions; morning 09.00 AM to 12.00 noon and afternoon 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM
CSIR UGC NET 2018 Application Form
To apply for this examination, visit the official website that is www.csirhrdg.res.in Candidates can get the application form via a link that is available at HRDG. Fill all the important details and once it is done then get a print out that filled application form. After that paste, the passport sized photograph on that form and also sign. The payment should be done in any of the branches of Indian bank. If you belong to Srinagar and Imphal then you can do the payment via NEFT or RTGS too.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Candidates must be an Indian National.
Age Limit & Relaxation:
- For JRF (NET):Maximum 28 years as on 01 January 2018 {upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC(non-creamy layer) applicants}. For LS (NET): No upper age limit.
Educational Qualification:
- Interested candidates must have done BS-4 year’s program that is B Pharma, BE, B. Tech, MSc, MBBS, Integrated BS-MS or any other science degree with at least 55% marks.
- 5% marks concession is applicable for the people who belong to reserved category.
- Candidates who are studying M.Sc and have done graduation (10+2+3) they are also eligible for this examination.
- If you are interested in this examination, then it is must to submit the attestation format that is available on the back side of the application form.
- One more thing, the format should be duly certified by the HOD of the organization.
- If you have done BSc or if you are doing integrated MS-PhD program and have got minimum 55% marks then you are eligible to apply for the same.
- If you have done graduation from any science side or engineering then you can also get the fellowship but only after being registered to PhD or PhD integrated program.

C. Date of Birth
- While filling your particulars in the CSIR application form, you need to enter your date of birth.
- Make sure you enter the same date which is mentioned in your documents.
D. Relevant certificates and Marks obtained
- You need to enter the details of your marks obtained in CSIR online application form. Enter them very carefully.
- It is advised to take the certificates and mark sheets with you to avoid any mistake.

- You have to affix your black & white passport sized photograph at the required place of the hard copy of the online application form.

- Mode of payment: Bank challan from Indian Bank only / from any other Bank through NEFT.
- If payment made through NEFT: Take the printout of bank challan and fill in the details. Submit it along with hard copy of CSIR NET form.
- Candidates are advised to confirm that their transaction is settled before they carry on with the CSIR Online application process.
- If you do CSIR NET online fee payment by any other mode such as IPO / demand draft/money order / CRF stamps, it will not be accepted.
- Keep it in your mind that once you pay the fee, it will not be refunded or adjusted for any subsequent examination.
CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern
- The Test will be held in a total of five subjects viz., Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth, Physical Sciences Chemical Sciences, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
- It will consist of a single MCQ paper comprising of 200 marks.
- There will be a deduction of the marks for wrong answers as per the subject wise scheme of the exam.
- The benefit of marks will be given to only those candidates who attempt the question in the case, any question found to be wrong at a later stage then.

The question paper will be divided into three Parts- A, B, and C as described below:
Part A – First part will be common to all the subjects and will include questions pertaining to logical reasoning, graphical analysis, General Aptitude, Numerical ability etc.
Part B – Second part of the test will include conventional MCQs covering various topics of the concerned subject. For the subject of Engineering Sciences, however, questions pertaining to Engineering Aptitude and Mathematics will be included.
Part C – This section will comprise of questions of a higher value that will be designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or its application. Questions in this section will be of an analytical nature. For the subject of Engineering Sciences, it will include subject-related Multiple Choice Questions.

Admit card
- The appearing candidates of CSIR UGC NET 2018, can download their admit cards from the official website www.csirhrdg.res.in.
- The admit card will be issued by First Week of June.
- The candidates have to enter their application form number and date of birth to download their admit card.
- No hard copy of admit cards will be issued to any candidate.
- The candidates have to carry their admit cards at the examination center.
CSIR UGC NET 2018 Result
- The Result will be published in form of merit list at the official website.
- The merit list will comprise names of qualified candidates with their ranks.
- It will be published differently for each stream.
- The preparation of the merit list is done on the basis of performance of candidates in June 2018 exam.
CSIR UGC NET 2018 Cut Off
- The cut off marks for CSIR UGC NET is the minimum marks required to get shortlisted for fellowships.
- Cut Off marks is expected to be declared separately for each subject.
The cut off is devised considering numerous factors including,

- Total number of available seats
- The difficulty level of the question paper.
