CSIR UGC NET 2017: Application Process To Start on August 23, Exam Tentatively Scheduled On December 17
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research will begin the online application process for National Eligibility Test (NET) on August 23, 2017. The tentative date for the objective test is December 17, 2017.
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research will begin the online application process for National Eligibility Test (NET) on August 23, 2017. The tentative date for the objective test is December 17, 2017. The exam is conducted for selection of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship and/or Assistant Lectureship. The exam will be a single paper MCQ based test conducted over two sessions on a single day. The subject-wise schedule of the test would be declared at a later stage.

How to apply
Interested & eligible candidates may apply Online through a link available at CSIR, HRDG website www.csirhrdg.res.in
In order to apply Online the candidates are required to download Bank challan Performa from the above website and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches throughout the country
Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available at CSIR, HRDG website
Candidates must write their name, father/mother’s name as written in their Matriculation (Xth Class Board) Certificate and should ensure that the same are matching with their educational qualification certificates and caste certificate except for married females who may submit relevant certificate regarding change of their name while filling their online application form
The hard copy of filled online application form, duly completed with requisite enclosure should be sent by Ordinary post to the Deputy Secretary (Exam), Examination Unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, Opposite Institute of Hotel Management, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 so as to reach Examination Unit CSIR on or before 14th March 2017
For candidates applying from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshdweep, the application form must reach to the Deputy Secretary, Examination Unit, CSIR on or before March 2017

CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern
The question paper will be divided into three Parts- A, B, and C as described below:
Part A – First part will be common to all the subjects and will include questions pertaining to logical reasoning, graphical analysis, General Aptitude, Numerical ability etc.
Part B – Second part of the test will include conventional MCQs covering various topics of the concerned subject. For the subject of Engineering Sciences, however, questions pertaining to Engineering Aptitude and Mathematics will be included.
Part C – This section will comprise of questions of a higher value that will be designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or its application. Questions in this section will be of an analytical nature. For the subject of Engineering Sciences, it will include subject-related Multiple Choice Questions.
Negative Marking: There will be a deduction of the marks for wrong answers as per the subject wise scheme of the exam. The benefit of marks will be given to only those candidates who attempt the question in case, any question found to be wrong at a later stage then.

CSIR UGC NET 2017 Eligibility for the test
Age limit and relaxation
For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years as on 01st January 2017 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/ Persons with disability (PwD) and female applicants)
For LS (NET): No upper age limit
- Candidates who have completed the four-year BS program or hold a BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/Integrated BS-MS/MBBS/BSc (Hons)/M.Sc. or equivalent degree or students enrolled in the Integrated MS-PhD program or Equivalent degree/B.Sc (Hons) with at least 55% marks for General & OBC-NCL candidates are eligible to apply (50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates).
- Candidates enrolled for M.Sc. or have just completed 10+2+3 years of any of the above qualifying examinations are also eligible under the Result Awaited (RA) category, however, such candidates will have to complete the qualifying degree with the requisite percentage of marks within the period of two years, In order to avail the fellowship.
- To avail the CSIR fellowship only, candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree, in Science, Engineering or any other discipline will be eligible after he/she has got himself/herself enrolled for Ph.D./Integrated Ph.D. program within the given validity of 2 years.
CSIR UGC NET 2017 Application Form and Fee
Application form will be available on the CSIR website (www.csirhrdg.res.in) starting August 23, 2017. The application fee for General category candidates is Rs. 1000, for OBC Non-Creamy layer category candidates is Rs. 500, and for SC/ ST/ Person with Disability category candidates is Rs. 250.
