DRDO Recruitment 2020 for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) is being conducted to fill up 18 Vacancies at the Defence Research and Development Organization’s Centre Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL). SSPL is pursuing research in the areas of advanced semiconductor material and devices. Selected candidates will be hired on a temporary basis, and would also be eligible for a salary of Rs 31,000.

Who can Apply for DRDO Recruitment 2020?

According to the official notification issued in the employment newspaper, there are a total of 18 JRF vacancies in the subjects Physics, Electronics, Material Science, or Microelectronics of which 13 positions are reserved for candidates who will be funded by DRDO, and 5 vacancies are reserved for candidates with own fellowship.

For the 13 vacancies candidates are required to have MSc degree in Physics or Electronics with first division with NET (Lectureship), and for the 5 own fellowship vacancies candidates are required to have MSc degree in Physics or Electronics with first division with NET (Fellowship).

The SSPL laboratory is equipped with state of art material preparation, characterization and device fabrication facilities.

Duly filled applications must be sent to the email address mentioned within 14 March 2020. Although the Junior Research Fellow positions are for SSPL, Delhi, selected candidates can be posted at SMRC, Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC), Hyderabad or Semiconductor Technology and Applied Research Centre (STARC), Bangalore. The age of the candidate should not be over 28 years on the last date of the receipt of the application; the age is, however, relaxable for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
