How to Calculate Probable Score using the GATE Answer Key 2019
For calculating probable scores, the candidate has to follow the marking scheme as is outlined in the exam pattern of GATE 2019. The candidate may follow the steps given here to calculate probable score:
-
Calculate the total number of correct attempts and allocate marks accordingly and then calculate the overall positive marks.
-
Next the candidate has to tally the total negative marks for incorrect attempts. Only MCQs have negative marking. There is no negative marking for NAT questions in GATE.
The total marks = Total marks obtained for correct attempts – Negative marks for incorrect attempts
MCQ Marks: Total marks (1 marks) + Total marks (2 marks)
-
Total marks (1 marks) = 1 x number of correct answers – 1/3 x number of wrong answers
-
Total marks (2 marks) = 2 x number of correct answers – 2/3 x number of wrong answers
NAT Marks: Total marks (1 marks) + Total marks (2 marks)
