IIT JAM 2019 Important Dates – IIT Madras conducting body of JAM 2019 will release the JAM 2019 important dates in the second week of August, 2018 along with the notification for Joint Admission Test. The important dates of JAM 2019 will mention the schedule of the admission process of JAM 2019 along with the dates. IIT JAM Dates 2019 mentions the release of the application form, admit card, result and counselling procedures. (Joint Admission Test) is conducted annually for the admission to the post graduate programmes offered by the participating IIT’s. The application form will be released by the first week of September 2018. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form by the third week of October 2018. The admit card for the entrance exam will be released by the second week of January 2019. JAM 2019 is set to be conducted in the second week of February 2019. After the results are declared the counselling procedure will begin with the release of the admission form to be filled and submitted before the counselling procedure. IIT Madras is set to conduct JAM 2019 in the second week of February 2019. IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is a national level examination. This exam is conducted for providing admission to the M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree & other post-bachelor’s degree courses at IITs. Through this exam, candidates can also get admission into the Ph.D. programme at IISc. Eligibility Criteria of JAM is candidate should have the Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 55%.

JAM Application Form 2019
Before filling the application form, the candidates will have to complete the registration process of JAM 2019. Candidates have to register themselves at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling and submitting details such as email address, password, name and mobile number. After registration is completed candidates can now move on to fill the application procedure. While filling the application form candidates must make sure to check all the details including subject of choice, exam centre of choice and academic personal details. IIT JAM Exam Schedule 2019
The IIT JAM 2019 Application Form will be released from the first week of September 2018 through online process. Candidates will register online through JOAPS till the third week of October 2018. The last date to pay the online application fee will be third week of October 2018. Candidates will make correction in gender, category and PwD status from the last week of October to first week of November 2018. The IIT JAM 2019 Admit Card will be available from the second week of January 2019.
The authority will organize the IIT JAM 2019 exam in the second week of February 2019. The answer keyalong with question papers will be published in the last week of February 2019. The IIT JAM 2019 Result will be provided to students in the third week of March 2019. The score card will be available from the last week of march to last week of July 2019. After the result announcement, students will submit their application form for admission between first to third week of April 2019. The last date to request for change is category will be April 2019. IIT JAM 2019 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern complete details are mentioned here:
- Exam Mode: The examination will be held in computer-based mode.
- Session: The exam will be organized into two sessions, i.e. 9 AM to 12 Noon & 2 PM to 5 PM.
- Sections: In the examinations, the questions will be asked in three different patterns such as Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
- No. of Papers: Total seven papers will be organized for JAM exam.
- Duration: The exam duration will be three hours.
- Medium: The medium of the exam will be English only.
- Number of Questions: Total 60 questions will be asked in the examination.
- Marks: The question paper will be of 100 marks.
- Negative Marking: There will be negative marking only in Section A.

IIT JAM 2019 Eligibility
In order to fulfill IIT JAM 2019 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates). It may be noted that the aggregate marks should be without rounding off and take into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined, informs the official website.
Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2019 are also eligible to apply.
For candidates who have been given letter grades/ CGPA as a substitute for percentage of marks, the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting college/ institute. Proof of passing graduation exam with minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2018, states the official website.
Besides the proof for minimum educational qualification, candidates also need to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admissions. Candidates found unfit to pursue his/her Science course can be denied admission by the admitting institute.
Age criteria: There is no age limit to appear for IIT JAM 2019 exam.

JAM Important Dates 2019 – Admit Card
The admit card for JAM 2019 will be made available from second week of January 2019. To download the admit card candidates will have to enter their login credentials which include their application no/Registration ID and password.
JAM Result 2019
JAM 2019 results will be declared by the third week of March 2019. The result will be available in the online mode. Candidates can check their result by entering their login credentials (login ID and Password). The results of JAM 2019 will mention the marks and rank secured by the candidate along with the name of the subject. The marks will be displayed in the form of JAM 2019 score card.
JAM Cutoff 2019
The cutoff of JAM 2019 will be determined after the results of JAM 2019 is declared. The cutoff is the minimum marks required by candidates to qualify for the admissions to the subjects they have applied for. Every subject will have different cutoff marks depending on the number of applicants and the reservation for different categories.
JAM Counselling 2019
JAM 2019 counselling will be conducted by the first week of April 2019. Candidates who have applied for the admission process will be called for the counselling procedure. Candidates must note that the admissions will be based on the merit list released by the conducting board of the entrance examination. The conducting institute will release upto 3 merit lists based on which the admission procedures will be conducted.

Question: How many preferences can be added?
Answer: You can add as many number of preferences as possible based on the qualified JAM Test Paper(s). But you must ensure that the eligibility requirements of a particular programme at an Institute are satisfied before adding it as one of your programme choice.
Question: Can “Programme Choices” be modified after submitting the application?
Answer: A Candidate can modify his/her “Programme Choices” after submitting the choices, but before the last date of submission. They cannot change any other information in the application after submitting their application.
