UK University Scholarships for International Students 2016
International Scholarships UK are offered by many authorities but the key is to apply on time. Students pursuing Class XII should start their preparation in December itself so that they have the best opportunity to get scholarships in UK.
Admission Times have compiled a list of scholarships available for postgraduate students from countries like India, USA, Vietnam and Commonwealth developing countries.
1. Marshall Scholarships
Finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study.

Entry Criteria – Hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.7. To qualify for awards tenable from October
Value – Cover residence and cost of living expenses at the rate of £828 per month (£1,024 for Scholars at Central London institutions).
Payment of tuition fees; fares to and from the United States;
Claimable allowances totaling approx – £3,300.
Frequency – One Year
Number of Scholarship Available – 40 awarded annually.
Application – Applications are made in one of eight regions in the United States. Candidates may apply in one region only – either that in which they have their permanent home address or ordinary place of residence/employment, or that in which they are studying. http://www.marshallscholarship.org/
2. Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, set up by the Department for International Development (DFID) in 1986, represent a unique partnership between the United Kingdom government and UK universities.

Entry Criteria – Candidates are normally expected to hold a first degree at either first class or upper second-class level. Sponsoring institutions must confirm that candidates are sufficiently fluent in written and oral English to pursue their proposed studies immediately, as no pre-course English Language Teaching is available under these awards. Candidates who have already studied for one year or more in a developed country or who possess sufficient resources to self-fund are not eligible for an award.
Value – £1,091 Per month for scholars.
Based in London and £844 per month for the rest of the UK

3. British Chevening Scholarships
British Council will cease to be the administrator of the Chevening Scholarships Programme.

Entry Criteria – At least 2 years working experience, There are no minimum or maximum age limits for the scholarships, score of at least 6.5 or TOEFL at 600.
Value –
Vietnam – A full scholarship will cover the cost for a UK visa, a return air ticket to the UK, all tuition fees (not exceeding £10,000 per year), and a monthly stipend and allowances.
India – Covering tuition fees (of up to ₤12,000)

4. Charles Wallace India Trust
The Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) is an arts, heritage conservation and humanities scholarship fund. It enables Indians in the early or middle stages of their careers to spend time in the UK, helping to achieve their artistic, professional or academic ambitions and make wider international contacts.

Entry Criteria – Be aged between 25 and 45. Have a first degree or diploma or professional qualification in their specialization. CWIT prefers applicants with significant working experience.
