JEE Main Online Registrations 2018 begin at jeemain.nic.in, know how to apply
JEE Main 2018 Online Application: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main examination application process is all set to begin on December 1. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year as the first process of admission to top technical institutions across India. The official notification about JEE Main 2018 examination was released earlier by CBSE at jeemain.nic.in. Students who wish to take part in the exam that will be conducted on April 8 next year can fill in the application form as soon as the application process commences. There is no printed application form for JEE (Main). Candidates need to ensure that their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) and participating State Institutions (as applicable).
According to a notice on the official website of JEE Mains, “The Process of Online Application Form Submission for JEE MAIN 2018 will start from 01st Dec 2017 and last date for submission is 01st Jan 2018. The fee can be paid upto 2nd Jan 2018. The examination of JEE (Main) – 2018 in pen-paper based (offline) mode will be conducted on 08th April 2018 and Computer Based Mode (Online) Examination will be conducted on 15th & 16th April 2018.”
The whole application process this year will be take place online. No hard copies of the application forms will be accepted. The exam fee ranges from Rs 1,000 for general category boys to Rs 250 for reserved category girls.

Students who take the JEE MAIN 2018 exam will now be able to decide the day and time of the exam itself. Students who take the examination through online medium will get this facility. However, the facility of slot selection will be available only for Paper-I ie BE, BTech’s online examination. For the online exam, the slot or date will be available on the basis of first come-first-served basis. The point of note is that the candidates’ candidature will be canceled if they sit in more than one slot. CBSE has given the candidates the option of choosing their favorite day and shift for the JEE Main Online exam.
JEE Mains 2018: Examination Date-
- Pen & Paper Based Examination- April 8, 2018; Sunday
- Computer Based Examination- April 15th & 16th, 2018; Sunday & Monday
JEE Mains 2018: Eligibility Criteria-
- Candidates need to score at least 75 per cent in their class 12 board examinations or be in the top 20 percentile of their Boards to be eligible for JEE main or advanced.
- For candidates of the SC and ST categories, this has been lowered to 65 per cent.
- JEE advanced further requires that the candidates score high in JEE main and rank among the top 2,24,000 candidates
JEE Mains 2018: Mode of Examination-
- The Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) of JEE(Main)will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode
- The Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.) of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode
- A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) only

Paper Pattern for JEE (Main): The time duration for each Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 3 hours. Paper 1 will have 90 questions for 3 subjects (30 questions for each subject) with a weightage of 4 marks per question. Paper 2 will have 82 questions for 3 subjects. 30 questions for Mathematics and 50 for Aptitude with weightage of 4 marks per question and 2 questions for Drawing Test with a weightage of 35 marks each question. Students must remember that there will be negative marking for all the wrong answers and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
