The Tamil Nadu NEET Merit List 2017 will be released at tnhealth.org and tnmedicalselection.org
At last, the rank list of MBBS/BDS-aspirants in Tamil Nadu was released by the government on Wednesday. As per the Supreme Court directive, it was solely on the basis of NEET scores.
Of the top 20 students, 15 belong to CBSE and other boards, while five are from the state board. One transgender too finds a place in the merit list.
Releasing the rank list, state health secretary J Radhakrishnan said counselling would begin on Thursday and continue on all days till the all the available seats are filled. It will be held during intervening holidays, including Vinajaya Chaturthi day, in view of the limited number of days available before the deadline of September 4.
The Directorate of Medical Education will be releasing the Tamil Nadu NEET Merit List 2017 and counselling dates on Thursday, August 24.
Meanwhile, the central government said that it was not in favour of the recent ordinance passed by Tamil Nadu to exempt it from the NEET this year.
Further, the apex court told the state government to start the counselling process for admissions for MBBS and BDS seats in the state based on the NEET merit list.
How to check the NEET 2017 rank list for Tamil Nadu:
- Log on to the official websites, tnhealth.org or tnmedicalselection.org
- On the homepage, click on ‘NEET merit list’
- Enter your registration number, date of birth and security code
- A PDF file with names and percentage of selected candidates will be displayed
- Download and take a print-out of it
According to reports, the Directorate of Medical Education had received 50,558 applications this year
As said, from the total, 31,323 candidates were seeking admissions to 2,594 seats.
