SSC General Duty Constable Exam Update:
SSC GD Exam 2020 – SSC released the exam dates for SSC GD Constable 2020 examination on July 21st 2020. As per the notice, the exam for GD Constable 2020 is scheduled from November 27th 2020 onwards. Candidates can check the detailed information on dates in the SSC GD Exam Date page linked here.

SSC GD Exam 2018-2019 – SSC on July 22nd announced that the new dates for Review Medical Exam and Detailed Medical Exam 2018 will be announced after the situation of prevailing Corona Virus pandemic is improved. Detailed information can be checked on the SSC GD notification page.
Earlier, the Staff Selection Commission, on March 23rd notified stating that all SSC GD Medical Examination 2018 are postponed to cater to the emergent state of affairs.
- The Review Medical Examination (RME) scheduled to be conducted from March 24 to April 30, 2020.
- The Detailed Medical Examination (DME) scheduled to be conducted from March 23 to 30, 2020
- The Detailed Medical Examination (DME) scheduled to be held from March 26 to April 7, 2020.
SSC General Duty Constable Exam 2020
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) administers the SSC GD exam every calendar year to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.
- Staff Selection Commission had shortlisted 19,734 additional candidates for conducting PET/PST in order to fill up increased vacancies of CAPFs. Detailed information is given on SSC GD Notification page.
- The Final List of Both Male and Female candidates shortlisted for SSC GD Constable Medical Examination 2018-2019 is released by SSC. Candidates can check the details for SSC GD Constable PET/PST results at the bottom of the page.
- SSC has also released the exam date for SSC GD Constable Medical examination 2018-19. The detailed medical examination of the candidates who qualified the PET/PST test is scheduled to happen from 9 January 2020 to 13th January 2020.
SSC GD Recruitment 2019 – 2020
Every year the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) offers a golden opportunity to millions of aspirants across India by conducting an SSC GD recruitment drive for hiring new entrants for the posts of Constables (General Duty) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR) from various States/ Union Territories across India.
The SSC GD full form is Staff Selection Commission, General Duty. The recruitment scheme is developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between SSC and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On 24th July 2018, Staff Selection Commission officially released the SSC GD Notification for the 2018-19 exam to recruit fresh entrants for the post of Constables (General Duty) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR). According to the notification, the application procedure closed on September 30, 2018 (5.00 P.M.). The SSC GD salary for this post is Rs. 21700- 69100/-.
SSC GD Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are willing to appear for the SSC Constable (GD) exam 2020 are required to check the SSC GD eligibility criteria prior to filling up the Application Form. There are certain SSC GD requirements that a candidate has to fulfil before applying for SSC GD Post.
The Key SSC GD Eligibility Criteria that candidates must adhere to are as follows:
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold the essential educational qualification as on 1st August, 2018 i.e, Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University before applying for the GD post.
- Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen. For migrated candidates, they must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.
- Age Limit: The candidates who took the SSC GD exam 2018-19 should fulfil the age requirement of 18-23 years as on 1st August 2018, which implies that they should not have been born earlier than 2nd August 1995 and later than 1st August 2000.
- Age Relaxation: There is an age relaxation in the upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons based on the Government’s orders.

It is imperative for candidates to read the instructions thoroughly before proceeding with the SSC GD online one time ‘Registration Form’/ Application Form.
Applicants should provide all the requisite details while filling up the SSC GD Online Application Form. The Registration ID and password will be provided once the SSC GD Online Form is submitted. This would be the permanent Registration ID and Password which is required to apply for this exam.
