SSC CGL 2017 Revised Dates announced for upcoming Staff Selection Commission exams. As per the Revised Calendar announced by SSC on 10th April.In the revised SSC Exam Calendar, the most awaited update of SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Notification has been given.
As per the official website, the Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC CGL 2017 Notification on May 16. According to reports, earlier the notification was supposed to be out on March 11 but it was delayed due to some reason. The reason behind this delay is assumed that SSC is facing problems in organizing SSC CGL 2016 exam and other SSC exams i.e. CHSL/MTS/Stenographer.

SSC has published the revised calendar for their various examinations, including the most famous CGL & CHSL examinations.The commission had delayed the announcement of the Combined Graduate Level exam which was scheduled to be held for the month of March 2017.
But due to some administrative reasons, that were not divulged to the public, the notification was not upload. Now, with a new set of dates it is now certain that the SSC CGL 2017 exam is getting postponed.
SSC CGL 2017: The date of notification is revised & would now be uploaded on their website on May 16, 2017.
While the closing date of online registrations is fixed on June 16, 2017, the Tier 1 exam shall be conducted from August 1 to 20, 2017. Candidates who qualify in Tier I shall become eligible for next stages of selections which are Tier II, III & IV.
- SSC CGL online registration will commence from May 16
- The last date for SSC CGL online registration is June 16
- SSC CGL computer based tier-I exam will be held from August 1 to 20
- SSC CGL computer based tier-II exam will be held from November 10 to 11
- SSC CGL descriptive paper tier-III will be held on January 21, 2018

SSC CGL Recruitment 2017: Changes in Scheme of Examination
Staff Selection Commission has issued a notice for various exams that will be conducted by them this year. In the official notice, SSC CGL recruitment has been mentioned as well. As per the SSC CGL Recruitment notice, the duration of SSC CGL Tier I exam can be reduced from 75 minutes to a mere 60 minutes.

Online registration for the computer based examination (CBE) will commence from March 11 and will continue till April 15, 2017.
SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” categories posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices. Every year, lots of candidates apply for the CGL exam.
A notification released on the website says, ”The crucial date for reckoning of age calculation for CGLE 2017 would be August 1, 2017 and no change in this date would be made.” The SSC CGL Tier II examination will be held from September 5 to 8, 2017 tentatively.
Moreover, the admit cards for Combined Graduate Level (Tier II) examination 2016 have been released last week on November 18 on the official website, ssc.nic.in
As per reports, 14.82 lakh candidates appeared in 44 batches in 96 cities across the nation for the CGL Tier I examination. Now, 1.49 lakh candidates from different categories are all set to appear for the Tier II examination.

SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria are the conditions which candidates need to fulfil to apply SSC CGL exam, eligibility criteria mention below:
- Educational Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

- Mode of Fee Payment – candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 100. Candidates can submit fee thru SBI challan/net banking and debit/credit card. Female, SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates no need to pay any application fee.
SSC CGL 2017 Selection Procedure
Selection process includes 4 tiers as indicated below:
- Tier-1: Written Examination (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
- Tier-2: Written Examination (Objective Type) (each paper carry 200 marks)
- Tier-3: Written Examination (Descriptive Type) (100 Marks)

SSC CGL 2017 Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Tier-1 Exam Pattern:
- Exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
- Question paper will be divided into 4 sections: (1) General Intelligence & Reasoning, (2) General Awareness / General knowledge, (3) Quantitative Aptitude and (4) English Comprehension.
- There are 100 questions for 200 marks and exam duration will be 75 minutes.
- There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
Tier-2 Exam Pattern:
- Exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
- There are 4 papers, (Paper- 1) Quantitative Ability, (Paper-2) English Language and Comprehension, (Paper-3) Statistics and (Paper-4) General Studies (Finance and Economics).
- Paper-1 & 2 is compulsory for all posts and Paper-3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler” and Paper- 4 is only for the post of “Assistant Audit Officer”.
- Each paper carries 200 marks and exam duration is 2 hours for each paper.
- There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, negative marking of 0.50 marks in Paper-1, Paper-3 & Paper-4 and negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-2.
Tier-3 Exam Pattern:
- Exam is descriptive type and will be conducted offline.
- Candidates need to write Essay / Précis / Letter / Application Writing etc.
- Exam carries 100 marks and exam duration is 60 minutes and exam duration will be 80 minutes for “VH” and “Cerebral Palsy” candidates.
