NEET 2018 Exam Date Announced
Admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs will be on basis of CBSE NEET UG 2018. Medical institutions approved by MCI, DCI shall have to consider NEET 2018 for providing admission in MBBS/BDS courses. It will be single stage objective type test. You can submit an online application form to appear in the exam, and participate in counselling with a valid NEET 2018 result score.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a major update on the NEET 2018 examinations syllabus. According to the board — the official organisor of the national level medical exam — the Syllabus of National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET, 2017. It also said there is no change in the syllabus for NEET(UG), 2018.
“The Syllabus of NEET(UG), 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET(UG), 2017. There is no change in the syllabus for NEET(UG), 2018,” said a notification posted on the official website the of exam.

Exam Pattern of NEET 2018
The CBSE NEET 2018 will have a paper with 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology)to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at examination centre only. The duration of the test will be of 3 hours.

Significant Points for NEET Exam Pattern 2018
Type of questions: All questions in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test will be MCQ type. In other words, the question will be followed by four options. Out of four options, one is correct. Candidate must mark the most appropriate answer in OMR sheet.
Question paper language: CBSE will publish question papers in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada. In the application form of NEET 2018 candidate is required to mark option for language. If you have selected English, then you will get question booklet with questions only in English. If you opt Hindi, then your question booklet will be bilingual. Candidates opting for vernacular languages would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in selected language and in English
Mode of exam: Pen and paper based test. NEET is looked forward to be a pen and paper based test. Students who appear for exam will get hard copies of question booklets. They will mark answers in Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.
Questions distribution: 180 Questions are equally distributed among Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. Botany and Zoology are parts of Biology. So there are 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry papers. In Biology question paper there are 90 questions.
Question paper sets: To avoid cases of cheating and malpractice, CBSE issues 4 sets of question paper sets. All question paper sets have the same questions in different order. For instance, the question number 1 in Set A may correspond to question number 10 in Set B.
Negative marking: There is negative marking in NEET exam. If candidate marks an incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted for that. In other words, -1 is negative marking in NEET 2018.

Qualifying Marks Required To Be Eligible For MBBS / BDS Admission Through NEET
To be eligible for MBBS and BDS admisison on basis of NEET 2018, a student must obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET exam. If candidate belongs to SC / ST / OBC category then minimum marks at 45th percentile is qualifying cut off. For someone with locomotory disability of lower limbs, 45th percentile is cut off. CBSE will determine percentile on basis of NEET all India level medical / dental entrance exam highest marks.

All topics in NEET exam syllabus belong to topics taught in class 11th and 12th by recognized boards. 29 Topics are from class XI, and 30 from class 12th.
